My Handsome Boy

Although he is not as cooperative as his sister, Conner will always be my handsome boy! I'm pretty sure that having his picture taken is one of his very least favorite things (besides getting a haircut). I can't believe he will be in 6th grade next year! Thanks for humoring me son!

My Beautiful Daughter

What more can I say? She is turning out to be such a beautiful little girl and growing up so fast!! Courtney is so much fun to take pictures of, she is photogenic and likes to be in front of mommy's camera! I love it!!! I can't resist taking pictures of my cooperative subject! Love you sweet girl!

Homemade Strawberry Freezer Jam

Look what I did on Mother's Day! My first attempt at homemade strawberry freezer jam!! I don't know where this spurt of ambition came from but I decided to roll with it. I had 15 cups of strawberries after I got them all blended up, which worked out to be 7 batches! After being on my feet most of the evening I decided I was a bit crazy! Although it's been a huge hit after sharing with my sisters and mom and my freezer is full! I won't have to tackle this adventure for a while!! And it feels good to be domestic!

Parent Picnic

On May 8th all of the parents were invited to eat lunch outside with the kids for a Parent Picnic and I made sure I was there. I love having these opportunities to spend time with my kids and take part in their school activities when I can. The playground was a zoo with kids of every age! Good times!!!

Baby Animal Days

Back on April 24, I was lucky enough to join Courtney and her Kindergarten class and visit Baby Animal Days at the American West Heritage Center for a field trip. I loved being able to be there with Courtney and help Mrs. Tyger with a couple of the kids. She had assigned me three girls to keep track of and I had a blast with Courtney and two of her little friends. We saw baby ducks, geese, goats, pigs, cows, a peacock, lambs, horses and bunnies!! I had never been to Baby Animal Days so it was as much an adventure for me as it was for the kids. We all had such a great time!

My Poor Neglected Blog...

Ok, ok, I have heard the complaints at my lack of posting. I have soooooo many things to blog about but I either don't have the time or quite frankly I just haven't been in the mood. Needless to say, I will start to play catch up on all of the "events" in the last couple of months.

First off, my kids had their SEP conferences, let's see, way back in March. (Sad that I'm just blogging about this now that school is out. I'm such a slacker!!) I had a couple of great meetings with the kids' teachers. Conner has started improving his grades and you can really tell he is trying. He has had some struggles the past couple of years and I'm hoping that things will keep improving. His teacher, Mr. Allen, is so patient and encouraging for Conner and I know that he has made a positive impact on his life. I am so proud of you son!

Then we move on to Courtney. My little school lover! I don't think she has ever looked forward to the weekends because she misses Mrs. Tyger so much and she can't wait to get back to school on Monday. Courtney is filling her little brain full of Kindergarten knowledge and is doing fantastic! Mrs. Tyger informed me that Courtney is Little Miss Popular and all of the kids in class fight to see who gets to sit next to her. It made me laugh. After the conferences we went to the Book Fair and the librarian tells me the same thing! Courtney is quite the social butterfly and everyone loves her! I couldn't be prouder of my two smart kiddos!! I love you both so very much!

Our Easter

For Easter this year I was able to spend some time with the kids, which I was so grateful for. My sisters and I did an egg hunt around Grandma & Grandpa's yard, which was so much fun. We hid Conner's eggs a lot harder than the younger ones and he really struggled looking for them. It took him forever to find them all! We might have to take it easy on him next year. He was determined to find them "BY HIMSELF!!"

Fun hiding places!! :)

Courtney's new "Fancy Nancy" book that we have read a million times already.
I even get a Easter basket! Thanks MOM!!
After dinner and the egg hunt I came up with this little bunny hat craft (thanks to GTU). The kids had fun putting them together and it was sooooo easy. I pre-cut all of the paper plates out before hand so all they had to do is glue all the parts on. They all had fun being crafty with me!

Then, the Friday before Easter, Courtney and I went on a mommy/daughter date and saw the new Hannah Montana movie. We both LOVED it! And the Easter bunny brought her the soundtrack for the movie. Needless to say, we have been jamming to Miley Cyrus ever since.
